A multi-story building is a structure whose usage levels are regular in distribution, and which correspond roughly to the space required by their use. They are not necessarily more than one floor level high, and may even consist entirely of below-ground floor(s). In most cases the floor divisions are based on a human scale, without excessively high ceilings, although atriums may occur alongside stacked floors. Most typical buildings fall into this category.
